Frequently asked questions
What happens if I run out of monthly messages?
The chatbot politely tells the visitor it is temporarily unavailable. No data is lost — your knowledge base and settings remain. You can upgrade your plan anytime and it works immediately.
What is the own AI key option?
For higher-volume chatbots, your own AI provider account can be connected to ChatAutomata. This gives more flexible cost control.
Is there an annual subscription discount?
Yes — with annual billing you get 2 months free, meaning you pay for 10 months for 12. You can switch to annual during registration.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade anytime. When upgrading, we credit the difference proportionally until the end of the current cycle. Downgrade takes effect from the next billing cycle.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card payment and Hungarian forint invoicing are available according to the current checkout setup. A secure payment page guides the buyer through the payment. Prices are final — we are VAT-exempt (Hungarian AAM). From January 2027 we can also issue invoices in your company's name.
How long can I use the free plan?
The Free plan has no time limit (100 messages/month, 1 chatbot, web widget). Until 31 December 2026 every new and existing account gets the Pro plan free; after that, if you don't subscribe, your account continues on the Free plan — you never have to pay.
What happens after 31 December 2026?
Your Pro plan keeps working until 7 January 2027. In that time you can subscribe and add your company's billing details in your account. If you don't, from 8 January 2027 your account continues on the Free plan and your chatbot keeps running.
